This workshop emphasizes the method to approach and to understand the text to be translated. Through special exercises, based on translation’s cognitive approach, students learn how to approach the text to be translated as a whole, as a message that they have to transfer with no loss of information into the target language. Students work on low difficulty texts in linguistic and pragmatic terms. In addition, students familiarize themselves with the use of their basic tools, which means monolingual and bilingual dictionaries. Special care is attributed in enriching their cognitive baggage in order to understand fully and rapidly the text to be translated.
