Intensive practical workshop in the theory and practice of consecutive interpreting with a total of 40 class hours and additional 40-50 hours of group work, self-study and preparation. In the class framework, students improve their working memory, are introduced to note-taking techniques, practice public speaking, voice managing, conference preparation, objectivity and dealing with unexpected circumstances.

Intensive practical workshop in the theory and practice of simultaneous interpreting with a total of 40 class hours and additional 40-50 hours of group work, self-study and preparation. Since students have become familiar with the simultaneous interpreting process in the previous semester, lessons obtain weekly specific focus topics (of political, technological, scientific interest). Students prepare themselves for the conference topic of each lesson, as if they were going to work as interpreters at a real conference.

The course is articulated around texts of low demands as far as terminology is concerned and current affairs texts of average difficulty. The methodology for class work is involves the preparation of a text by the students at home and discussion on the translation they have attempted, their mistake and a final text arises comprising the best solution offered.
